I tried everything for my window flower pots ... flowers, indoor started sprouted, seeds ... Nothing grows ... I have lots of birds and some nocturnal visitors that sit in my flower pots ... they are so cute I don't mind ... but nothing has the time to grow before to be squish or eaten as seeds ...
I tried something new this July because for my Climate Change contribution to reduce the excess CO2 I want to have plants or "greens" on my window cil ... it reduce CO2 and the magnifying effect it does to the window and reduce the heat indoor ... it is also good for everyone and it breeds little LIFE like insects that wildlife and birds like :) The CO2 reduce clouds formation so whatever greens helps make clouds and so shade ... and even rain needed for all life and fruits and garden and washing off pollutants on the grounds ...
I tried grass ... a bag of simple grass seeds ... and it is much more resistant with this new Climate ... it actually grows and my little outdoor friends will love the cushioned of it and dig for shrubs through the roots maybe ... :)
The good thing is it is resistant, grows in anything and is lovely actually ... it is green and you can cut it as you please to have more new one to absorbs more when the grown ones are saturated with the CO2 they have absorbed ... is the most affordable and sustainable efficient CO2 reducer ...
Do not forget if you cut it that it will released the absorbed CO2 so bag it ...
Note: CO2 is not an enemy ... it is O2 (oxygen) mix with C (carbon) that is part of all life and what the plants eat ... Photosynthesis is the fact of plants absorbing CO2 for keeping the C as food and releasing the O2 ... we like this as we need the O2 and not much the C in the air so it is a symbiosis between us and plants ... at night the plant do the opposite but in small quantity and that is for the CO2 they will need for food the next day ... CO2 is also in Space winds ... It is natural and an important part of life on the planet BUT too much is toxic for us Human and animal and we make some extra with emission from cars or other factories etc etc Still it is not the enemy ... more better absorbtion management and creative idea can balance it off ...
Krill in the Ocean eat like plants and feed from the CO2 ... good again for us as depolutants but also it is so their food ... no CO2 = no plants photosynthesis and no krill ... so I think the best is to be a resilient citizen and plant green that likes and feed from it and make 2 stones with one reduce what is toxic for us & have nice greens :) Ocean can be inseminated with Krill to absorb the CO2 and certainly that covers a huge amount of space ... and the C they have kept as food is C food for sea animals that will eat it and more Krill = more sea animals ... same as on the ;and from the animals that eat the plants that had the C as food ... The soil also absorbs CO2 and maybe coming from bellow ... so plants helps absorbs the excess coming from possibly volcanic released or organic decomposition before the ground intoxicate us ... it act as a filter and that is how the C feed the roots ... more absorbed CO2 = more clouds and rain = better plants growth and more CO2 reducer ... it is a cycle natural and affordable and sustainable and also beautiful and useful for other species ...
Cactus absorbs bacterias as well as CO2 and can tolerate more direct sun, heat & cold within 12 hours change, also absorb / release night day opposite as normal plants ... They are extremely beneficial ...
Winter plants are dormants and so the excess CO2 from cars etc is not absorbed ... why not have cactus and place it outside for few hours at night ( as night cold in the desert) and indoor in the heat and window very hot like the desert day ...
I think if everyone would placed even a small reusable bag with soil and simple grass seeds on every windows ... the air would be already better for us :)
